Guinness Record for Largest Online Poker Tournament

Posted under Poker & internet poker & poker rooms

Full Tilt Poker will attempt to stamp its name on the Guinness Records and to do so; the site has announced that it will try to set a new record for the Largest Online Poker Tournament. Full Tilt’s Record Breaker tournament was unveiled as the finale to FIVE, a week of events and promotions created exclusively to celebrate the site’s 5th anniversary. The tournament will take place on July 19th at 15:05ET, players can buy in for this event for only $5 or 1000 Full Tilt Points and compete for a share of a $250,000 guaranteed with $250,000 added prize pool. Players can also get entries to this event by playing the online satellites available on the site and starting for as little as 30 cents or 50 Full Tilt Points.

Team Full Tilt pros and WSOP bracelet winners Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey have already confirmed they will take part in the event, offering players the chance to sit down at this historic tournament and play with some of the best high stakes and tournament pros in the world.

“By extending the limits of what is possible in online poker tournaments, Full Tilt Poker will allow players to compete for a big payout without the big buy-in,” said Team Full Tilt member Howard Lederer.

Putting together a poker tournament of this magnitude would be nearly impossible for any brick and mortar casino or poker room. The current record for the largest “live” poker tournament was set at the 2006 WSOP Main Event with 8,772 players. To break the current Guinness Record set by PokeStars.com in December, 2008, Full Tilt Poker will need to attract over 35.000 players. If successful, this tournament will establish Full Tilt Poker as World Record holder and cement its reputation as a world leader in online poker industry.

Full Tilt Poker launches new “Durrrr Challenge” Info page

Posted under Poker & internet poker & online poker room & poker celebrities & poker rooms & poker tournament

FullTilt.com has recently launched a new info site containing all the details of the “Durrrr Challenge”, an incredible online heads up tournament presenting some of the most talented high stakes online players taking on the online poker phenom Tom “durrrr” Dwan.

The innovative new site presents online poker players and fans the chance to track this amazing durrrr challenge and receive regular updates. With this innovative “durrrr Challenge” portal players can track all the poker action and check out each hand played during this poker challenge, and check out lots of stats, including number of hands played, time of session, amount won, average won during each hand and much more.

Around six months ago, the twenty-three year old online poker pro issued a heads-up challenge for any player with the money, time and talent to accept it. Any poker player entering the poker challenge has to wager $500,000 against Tom’s $1.5 million. Tom’s challenge specifies that a minimum 50,000 hands need to be played at the same time at four or more poker tables of no-limit Hold’em or pot-limit Omaha. At the end of the durrrr challenge, the player who has more money will win the pool. Essentially if you enter the Full Tilt Durrrr Challenge and win a dollar after the 50,000 hands, then you will secure durrrr’s $1.5 Million, but if he wins by a dollar then he will win your $500,000.

To date, a few poker players have accepted to play the “durrrr challenge”, including WSOP Champ Phil Ivey and David Benyamine, however, only Patrick Antonius has consented to the Full Tilt Poker Challenge. Until now, both poker pros have taken part in a total of 20,647 poker hands out of 50,000, with Dwan ahead $726,546 total.

Online Texas Hold’em Special Investigation Show will be shown on Television

Posted under gambling & internet poker & online gambling

poker scandal
Sunday night the CBS network will present their documentary “How Online Gamblers Unmasked Cheaters”. This special program was filmed after a 16-week examination into the online Texas Hold’em poker business and in particular a cheating scandal concerning the online poker page Absolute Poker.

This poker webpage was studied after a number of the poker players on the webpage stated that a poker player was dishonestly winning a great amount of poker chips. Todd Witteles was a crucial player in this study, according to him; he was losing great amounts of poker chips to the very same poker player. Witteles alleges that this player was raising against exceptionally good hands, the majority of people would have presumed he was simply giving his money to the other players, but he was unbelievably winning money.

Witteles was quite correct in his assumptions, later on it was exposed that a player with knowledge of the site was able to watch any poker player’s hole cards. At first glance, Absolute Poker proclaimed that there were no faults with the webpage or the Texas Hold’em competitor. After many more players stepped up with charges of fraud, the poker page investigated deeper into the cheating problem and discovered wrongdoing.

By Jan. of 2008, the Kahnawake Gaming Commision came across what the Texas Hold’em poker competitors and the Texas Hold’em poker webpage had assumed all the time. The result of the investigation was that, there was a worker who had hacked the Texas Hold’em poker webpage’s protection and was playing illegally for approximately a month and a half. The examination verified that the poker site had not gained from the unlawful behavior at all, and was in no way implicated.

These illegal activities are further confirmation that there needs to be more rules regarding online Texas hold’em sites. The U.S. government should license and legalize the online Texas Hold’em industry to shield these decent clients. These control measures would also police the access to these websites by young children, which is becoming another concern recently.

Staying away from Disruptions when you are playing Online Poker

poker
The benefits of online Texas Holdem versus real-life casinos are unlimited, but besides these benefits there are also various drawbacks. Online Texas Holdem lets regular amateur players the opportunity to compete in actual tournaments with pro Texas Hold em players, but these beginner players ought to prevent any disruptions that may impair their chances to make lots of money.

The greater part of online Texas Holdem players become preoccupied by their environment, or maybe by the online poker webpage they are competing on. These distractions can in reality cost them excellent poker hands and most likely their well-merited Texas Hold em chips. The game of Texas Holdem is a game of ability and also absolute concentration, no matter if you are playing at home, or in an actual casino.

Perhaps, the most prevalent error that online poker players commit is by being involved in more than one poker table simultaneously. The better part of amateur Full Tilt Poker players will assume that this is a good idea, but finally it could prove to be a shortcoming. This scheme of playing a number of Texas Hold em tables at once will hurt your concentration and in the end cost you Texas Holdem chips. Always remember that even the greatest poker players around can make damaging blunders while concentrating their mind on a few online poker tables at the same time.

Any given internet poker player, could at any point, discover themselves playing different internet poker tables at one time, at the same time as they are watching television, reading their preferred website, text messaging friends etc. This is a state which is supposed to be shunned if you expect to win Texas Holdem poker games and qualify for big Full Tilt Poker tournaments. Never forget to center your mind on the other Full Tilt Poker player’s bets, their aim, and your own online Texas Holdem poker hands if you really want to become an expert poker player.
